0.6 Changes

Long-term direction and broad gameplay, interface, security, and stability improvements.

Long term, the plan was to consolidate development into one place. Today, I took Akarra 3D offline and completed that transition.

Characters from Akarra 3D were copied to the new version, now simply called Akarra. You may notice some differences. Features still in development have been removed and moved to a private development environment.

Going forward, Akarra will use A2 as a faithful base while new content and features are added over time. There will be no further account resets.

Signing in will now take you directly to the Akarra character select. From there, you can choose Community Shards and select another version to play if you want to explore the history of the game.

This new sign-in flow makes it clearer which version of Akarra Online is under active development.

Additional updates include:

  • Terrain shadows, improved water and weather polish
  • Combat, skill, targeting, darkness and creature behavior improvements
  • Ammunition, trade, crafting, shop and item fixes
  • Quest, fellowship, following and NPC improvements
  • Mobile HUD, joystick, dialogue and sidebar improvements
  • Persistent character skill lists
  • Reconnection, shard loading and socket diagnostic improvements
  • Regional World Editor and live collision editing
  • Source Content Editor and archive browsing
  • Private Akarra Development and Staging environments
  • Website account, Google sign-in and administration improvements
  • Security improvements
  • Akarrian Supporter subscription foundation
  • Mounted entrance fix
  • Performance and stability improvements
  • Missing coin drop bug
